Z is for Zappy

After finalizing on 3 words I finally chose zappy.

The other 2 being;

-       Zenzizenzizenzic which is the eight power of a number and,

-       Zythum which is the ancient Egyptian beer.

Z is for Zappy.

Which means lively and entertaining.

For my final post I chose this word as it fits best to give a tribute to the most lovely and entertaining challenge I have ever participated in i.e. “A to Z challenge”

The concept is what catches the eye of every blogger. Just imagine how many new words or experiences we can read from this challenge.
I saw over 2000 people registering for this challenge this year which made me realize people all over the world will be here. So I’ll surely get to learn something new.

I surely got a lot of page views, followers, comments in abundance. But mainly, I learnt how much the blogging world is evolving.
There are so many talented guys who portrayed their work every day through new alphabets.

Some just posted beautiful poems, snapshots, stories etc.
I liked them all. I’m sorry for missing out on the blogs which I could not read.

And I’m happy for completing this challenge. Last year, I did not take part. This year, I did and it was a success for me.

I would finally like to thank “The Phronristery” from where I chose all my words right from A-Z to make it more interesting and to help I and all you guys to learn new words.

I would like to thank the "A-Z challenge" for giving me so much of exposure and the chance to view so many new talented bloggers.
Thank You.

Y is for Yeuk

Y is for Yeuk.

Which  means to itch.

My choice for this word is because it’s funny.

I’m sure there might have been occasions when you have to itch, but the place, the situation and the people around make your life more miserable than it already feels like.

You want to itch, but there are people around.

Sometimes it gets so worse, that you either have to use your brain at full capacity to find out ways and means to itch without being caught awkwardly.

For me there have been many such occasions. When in line for communion in mass, there’s an itch and I seriously cannot even think of itching due to the crowd around me.

The feeling is almost funny as it is unbearable right?

So tell me;
Have there been any such itchy occasions and how you dealt with them?

Have a nice day.

X is for Xenodochial

X is for Xenodochial

Which means hospitable; kindly to strangers.

In today’s time being kind to strangers is a bit tough.
Maybe not for all, but definitely it isn't easy.

There are many instances when our patience and understanding level is tested.

When a friend pushes us on purpose, we might take that as a friendly gesture. What if a stranger did that? I doubt half of you would even laugh it off.

As of me, it’s been a bag of mixed emotions.

Sometimes I do flip out in anger.
Sometimes I don’t take it to heart.
Sometimes I keep myself in the other person’s shoes and understand it wasn't intentional. There is no fixed set of protocol I follow.

So have you been kind to strangers always?

Did you have any good or bad experiences?

I would love it if you could share it with me.

Have a nice day.

W is for Wanchancy

W is for Wanchancy.

Which means unlucky; uncanny.

I don’t believe there are unlucky people.
The word unlucky has been given a wrong meaning.

If a person loses to an opponent, they say he was unlucky.
If the goalkeeper could not save a goal from entering the post, they say he was unlucky.
If someone could not get into a college because he had one mark less, they say he was unlucky.

But why do we say unlucky?

Can’t we see that maybe the opponent was better?
Can’t we see that the player kicked the ball accurately?
Can’t we understand that there were other brilliant students with better marks?

All we say is he/she was unlucky.
That’s not right. It shouldn't be like this.

Do you’ll agree with me?

V is for Vafrous

V is for Vafrous.

Which means cunning or sly.

This word has a negative feeling attached to it the moment you read it.
Cunning/Sly.
I know what it means. But sometimes being cunning or sly is not bad either, right?

It’s a skill some possess where they find a way to get things done or achieve a certain result in a smart or deceitful way.
Why they do that?

Maybe they think doing it in the normal way will not give them the result they want to achieve.

Maybe they don’t want people to know how they are doing it. They feel if people know, then someone will do it better than them.

So maybe they feel a bit insecure and that’s why they behave that way. Doesn't mean they are always bad.

U is for Ucalegon

U is for Ucalegon.

Which means when a neighbors house is on fire.

I need to be honest with you guys.

The reason why I chose this word is because I never knew such a term even existed.

Like really, when someone’s house is on fire, what do we do?

Do we yell “Fire” “Help” or “Ucalegon”?

It’s funny when we come across such words too.

But the real question is,

Do people even use this word?

T is for Tarriance

T is for Tarriance.

Which means an act of delaying/procrastination.

How many of us love to procrastinate?

I am one of them…

Not all the time, but yes sometimes I do love delaying.

It’s not that I’m lazy but when I weigh the prospects, doing the task a bit late sounds a bit appealing as I get more time to rest.

The same can be told about exercising.

We all want to wake up early and run and be fit. But most of us end up pressing the snooze button of our alarm.

I learnt a lot since I started to avoid delaying tasks at hand. It gave me a lot of confidence, not to forget the free time I got post finishing the tasks early.

And last but not the least, it gave me immense happiness.
Yes, to procrastinate is easy and to do the work right now sounds boring and irritating but it’s better that way. Complete the tasks and you’ll have more time for yourself and everyone around you.

Just remember,
My first and last tip to you is to avoid procrastination… at all costs.

S is for Schadenfreude

S is for Schadenfreude.

Which means deriving malicious pleasure in other’s misfortunes.

I know it’s wrong to be one of them, but sometimes I am.

It so happens that when I hate someone and I see them suffer, it gives me a weird sense of happiness.

It’s not right and I don’t ever think that way now.

But there was a time when seeing specific people suffer or looking at their misfortune made me feel nice.

It often happens that we feel our life is bad. Who knows, maybe the other person has worse days than you.

Like they say,

“The Grass looks always greener on the other side”

But the real question is,

Do you feel happy when you others have a bad time?

There are 2 ways of seeing this.

1 – You feel good because it did not happen to you.
2 – You feel good because it happened with the other person.

If you agree with point 1, then it’s OK till a certain degree. If its point 2 that you agree with, then buddy, that’s something you need to work on.

Don’t keep such hatred and negativity in your heart. You have just one. Spend it by spreading love to your near and dear ones.

Why keep such feelings inside?

Why give them so much power?

Don’t.

Because they aren't worth it.

R is for Reguerdon.

R is for Reguerdon.

Which means to reward.

Let me be honest with you guys. I have a short temper. I get angry very fast. I calm down sooner.

What it means is if I’m angry I’ll say hurtful things without even thinking. That would be very quick.

At the same time, when someone does something good or reward worthy I would find it tough to go and actually speak good about them. It is the right thing to do and I want to also but I find it tough.

So a thought lingered on my mind. Why this injustice?

Why can’t I be like that when I’m angry? I can speak so quickly that moment. Why not be that quick when it comes to speaking nice stuff too right?

Who knows… maybe just one line of praise or one smile can make someone’s day. If I can be better so can everyone else, right?

So if someone does something reward worthy, reward them with your smile, your attention and your words.

Have a nice day.

Q is for Quadragesimarian

Q is for Quadragesimarian.

Which means one who observes lent.

Quite a long word right?

didn't know there was a term for that so thought why not share it with you guys.

Also, when I say have you observed lent, the real question I want to ask is,

“Do you’ll think that many of us keep lent for our own selfish benefit and not for the Almighty?”

Have a nice day folks!

P is for Panpharmacon

P is for Panpharmacon.

Which means a universal remedy.

Wednesday 22nd April 2015 is celebrated as Earth Day.
On this day of joy, we display our love and affection or so it seems in honor of our humble abode.

The harsh truth being that we aren't taking care of our home.
Some day we would dirty it so much that living here would not be possible. We all know this. Even HOLLYWOOD does!!

When we can make movies and documentaries on ill effects of global warming, why not do our own part in cleaning our home.
If you can’t clean, don’t dirty it at least.

I don’t want to turn this into a boring lecture kind of a thing because you've heard these lines many a times. Just the voices speaking these lines have changed.

We need a Panpharmacon.
A universal remedy is the need of the hour.

As I write this from Mumbai, the heat has been draining the life out of us. It’s getting hotter every summer. Post a couple of years I doubt anyone would dare step out of their house due to the heat.

So let’s do our part. The Earth let us stay and thus it’s our part to keep it clean and livable.

Have you done anything for the Earth? Will saving our resources help sustain life on earth?
Let me know what ya think.

Have a nice day.

O is for Omnism

O is for Omnism.

Which means belief in all religions.

In today’s time, when there are many who have started doubting their religion and there has been an increase in atheists, I don’t know how many of us believe in all religions.

Yeah, there will be some, but it might be quite few when compared to people who either don’t believe or doubt their belief.

This thought came across my mind whilst reading this and I thought of sharing it with you guys.

Let me know if you know of anyone who believes in all religions.

N is for Nephelococcygia

N is for Nephelococcygia.

Which means act of finding shapes in clouds.

Hey people.

I’m lagging behind in this challenge but I won’t give up that easy.
For today I chose this word as it automatically got a smile on my face the moment I read the meaning.

Yes, I like finding shapes in clouds. Let it be nachos, a fairy, a car etc. anything and everything my mind prefers to weave the moment it looks at the sky.

I’m sure I’m not the only one here who likes doing this.

So share with me if you ever found shapes in clouds.

If you have pictures then share it with me.

I’d like it.

M is for Macarize

M is for Macarize.

Which means to declare to be happy or blessed.

Today I had the opportunity to be driven in a brand new car alongside a few bloggers from Mumbai to Lonavla.

Yes, the drive was good as we had a good driver. Pradosh took the opportunity to drive the new TATA BOLT. I and Mahafreed took the opportunity to just rest behind and enjoy the ride. All in all, we had a good time. The car was good, the meet was better and the entire event was at its best. Thus I can declare that I indeed am happy…

I won’t talk much since I’m too tired already.
So here are a few snapshots from our amazing journey.
