Gameweek 28 - Six Player Combos to look out for !!

Game-week 28 will not showcase 2 matches i.e 4 teams will not we playing this weekend.
They are,
Manchester City
Manchester United
Sunderland and,
West Bromwich Albion.

For this week, i have dedicated my post to the possible player combinations we must watch out for.
Have chosen 6 combos. Lets have a look.

1)  Luis Suarez & Daniel Sturridge:
With over 40+ goals and 20+ assists, this combination is the most deadly and lethal all over Europe.
When one stops scoring, the other one starts.
Suarez looked like he is on a roller coaster relay race
When he seemed to reduce the scoring spree, Stuirridge took the baton and said, "Let me continue with the race"
And guess what has happened ever since?
He has scored 8 matches in a row.
Also Liverpool now have amassed 70 goals in 27 league games, which beats Manchester City who have 69 goals in 26 games. Now that's a thought every team must take seriously.
I'm sure there will be at least one goal or an assist by these two this week.
Anyone care to deny?

2) Christian Eriksen & Emmanuel Adebayor:
Eriksen had been dropped by Mr Tim Sherwood last match.
The result was that it took over 80+ minutes for Tottenham to have a proper goal scoring chance hit on target.
Even with Adebayor's riding form, Sherwood's men looked under par with their performance.
Now, many of the pundits termed this as a bad day for the spurs, with some saying it was the absence of their main play-maker Eriksen.
Paulinho has been good too, but not that influential as Eriksen has been for the team.
He has created many more chances than Dembele and Paulinho.
Thus, if he is played this weekend, do expect this combo to give Spurs a much needed win for their chance of entering the Top 4.

3) Santi Cazorla & Olivier Giroud:
Santi Cazorla has been in prime form these past weeks, trying to ease out Mesut Ozil's responsibilities which have been doubled by the absence of Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott.
Else where, Giroud has been trying to make various attempts on goal and he finally succeeded by scoring 2 and assisting 1 last week.
Cazorla is that spark which can give the Gunners the much needed boost and points needed for the fight of the League title.
Giroud has the ability to not only score but also be unselfish and assist his team mates.
Until Ramsey arrives, they will have to keep winning and garner as many points as they can in order to keep the pressure on Chelsea and Manchester City.

4) Shane Long & Nikica Jelavic:
Hull City have seen a good partnership forming between their strikers, i.e Long & Jelavic.
The past few weeks have seen a new Hull team playing sensible football.
Not only are the strikers combining , but also the play makers of the team i.e Livermore and Huddlestone have been good too.
With Elmohamady showing some improvement with his run-ins inside the box, i don't see a reason why Hull can't keep improving.
The fight for the Europa league spot is what Hull must try, and these 4 players will be the reason why they will achieve that spot.

5)Adam Lallana & Rickie Lambert:
Lallana has been phenomenal this season for the Saints.
Southampton have been riding on this player's form and also on the form of their strikers Rodriguez & Lambert.
Both have been consistent for the Saints this season and have contributed around 20 goals for the club.
That's not all.
Fonte, Lovren & Lallana have equally contributed thus reducing the burden of the strikers to score every match.
With such diverse goal scoring line up, Saints look set for another ticket to the Europa league again.

6) Pablo Hernandez & Wilfried Bony:
Now, this pair is not like the others.
They haven't scored many goals, but have been there for the team as and when required.
Hernandez has been the highest in terms of assists in the midfielders section whereas Bony has been consistent in scoring his goals with a total of 10 for the team.
Hernandez hasn't been given a lot of playing time per match which is of high concern as according to stats, he has been involved in many goal scoring chances.
Thus its advisable that he be played as you never know, Bony just needs a clear space to shoot which can be provided by Hernandez!

Lets see how many of these combinations keep continuing their form!!

Should David Moyes be given time to recover his losses?

David Moyes.
The man of the moment for not only the English Premier League , but also for all other Leagues.
Now the above statement can mean for positive reasons, or negative reasons.
As per the public view, its mostly negative.

David Moyes found himself coming into the lime light after he was chosen as the successor to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
This season, the task given to him, is not what every manager gets, as the club has a historic background, and a huge chunk of titles.
So, already with pressure of completing board expectations, Moyes made changes.
Tried to adapt to how The Red Devils play, tried to improve their play, their style, get good results.
But all in vain!
United have  13 wins, 6 draws & 8 Losses with a meager goal difference of 12.
This is one of the worst seasons for United.
So much so, that the team which battles for top position is battling at mid table positions.
Their form and morale is in dumpsters and the players are completely inconsistent.
No luck this season even in the last 10 minutes of the game, where they had a record of scoring at the last moments of the game meant they are sliding down to a point of no return.
So some questions arise.

1) Does the team need many transfers?

I don't think so. The team might need 2 or maximum 3 changes.
But otherwise they are sorted.
Their strike force is too good, but due to injuries they haven't been up to the mark.
Their defense and midfield line up has been of a huge concern.
Micheal Carrick has been the savior and their anchor in saving games and making them win.
Thus a few transfers in these departments can help them reform!

2) Wayne Rooney's position in the team?

He recently signed a contract which makes him the highest paid footballer.
But many questions have been raised.
Does he deserve it?
Is he that worth?
Why shouldn't we sell him?
The answer to that is that Rooney has been the driving force of United and his need towards the team has been on increasing levels since 2 years.
He is a striker, but has been in the midfield for a long time. He has been the one, who has been making the play, running back to the defense as and when required, not going for goal.
Even after so much, he still stuck with the club, as he loves the club.
He is that type of a player, who puts the team, before himself.
But now, seeing how the team is performing and his role getting deeper in the mid field section, he wanted to leave, but he is at his prime peak now, an age where money matters more.
Thus expect him to be the driving force for united to bounce back.

3) Presence of Scholes and Giggs?

It has so happened that for many past seasons, the manager depended on these two for driving the team to victory.
This season is no different.
Giggs has been playing and Scholes retired by May 2013.
This is good, but more bad for the team as its like an insult to the youngsters and the other team mates.
No offense, but if the manager turns to them, its for their experience, or if i can term it, the lack of team experience.
The team need to step up and show more character if they have to get better results.

4) Marouane Fellaini - The worst transfer?

I will have to deny that.
Moyes had Fellaini under him when he was at charge in Everton.
Fellaini at Everton was at prime form, and was thus the hot topic, when he made the move to Old Trafford.
Since then, everything has gone against him.
His performance, his form, no support, people questioning his role in the team, people not supporting him has affected his form and morale completely.
But we all know the Fellaini from Everton. Just imagine if he strikes that form for United. Then what impact will the team have with his presence!
So, he too needs time to adapt, but his time will run out within the next 11 weeks when the premier league ends.

5) Should Moyes be SACKED?

I have to be honest.
For every TRUE Manchester fans, Moyes should have their support and he must be given 2 years.
You cannot become a world class manager within 1 year.
It takes time.
I'm sure Ferguson too needed time to get the team to a champion status.
Maybe he took lesser time than Moyes, but he did take time!
So, every week, i see PLASTIC fans of manchester talking stuff like we don't like Manchester now because Ferguson is gone.
The truth is, they are tired of every other team supporter coming and having a good laugh at them.
So, if the team doesn't play well, Its Moyes' fault.
If the team doesn't win many matches, its Moyes' fault.
So what are the others doing?
Just talking!!
That's all they can do.
My view is that Moyes needs the support from every fan because that's how he will improve, and when he does, Manchester will be back to top flight.

Gameweek 27 - Top 5 players to watch out..!!

The premier league returns on Saturday with the Champions League and Europa League matches done mid-week..
So, lets see the top 5 players which we need to look out for thus weekend.

1) Daniel Sturridge:
Undoubtedly in the best of forms off late, Sturridge is turning into a machine like Suarez.
Can you imagine, Suarez has stopped scoring, but it doesn't affect Liverpool. Because, Dan Sturridge has plans of his own. With 7 goals & 3 assists in the past 6 matches, he looks a red hot favorite for everyone with a Fantasy Premier League team to keep him as a captain.

2) Branislav Ivanovic / Seamus Coleman:
The battle of the best center backs in the premier league. Coleman from the start of the season has been the most influential defender and his presence has helped Everton work wonders.
Ivanovic has been in red hot form from the past 3 weeks with 2 goals and 1 assist. His contribution to Chelsea off late has been critical. Do expect one of these two to be the deciders of the match tomorrow between Chelsea & Everton.

3) Adam Lallana:
This lad has been phenomenal for Southampton. Every week, if you get to know that the Saints have won a match, then directly or indirectly Lallana is a part of it.
With 3 goals and 2 assists in the past 6 matches, its obvious that Lallana is on a roller coaster and the chances to stop him looks bleak.

4) Emmanuel Adebayor:
Adebayor has been pure class for Tottenham since Tim Sherwood took over.
With 8 goals and 4 assists in the past 10 matches, he looks set for creating yet another goal scoring chance.
Tottenham will look forward to put their loss behind them in Europa league this week. Also, at a time when teams in the top 5 are dropping points, this is a perfect chance for them to capitalize.

5)Petr Cech / Wojciech Szczesny:
These keepers are one of the top 3 reasons why their clubs win matches.
Szczesny with 6 clean sheets in the last 10 matches and some fine saves has been instrumental for the Gunners.
The class with which he has been performing gives the Gunners a edge every match.
Petr Cech has been a keeper for Chelsea since 2004.
Now he has over 200+ clean sheets for Chelsea, with 7 coming in the last 10 matches.
So, we know very well how capable he is to do some spectacular saves and will hep the Blues to concede less and increase their chances to keep their top position in the league for some more time.

Also these are few players you must have if you are playing the Fantasy Premier League.
Surely, you'll increase many many points.
Cheers!

Chocolateria San Churro

So, my visit to Chocolateria San Churro was too sweet. Literally!
From the title itself, you can guess what this place offers; "CHOCOLATE"!!
Had heard lot of reviews of this place and thus made it a point to visit it once.

The location and the area of this place is spacious enough for an entire group of 20-25.
The Ambiance is just too calm and some background music.
Ah.. The perfect mood for some chocolate tasting.
The cost for two will come up to 600-700 which will include this delicacy below and two milk-shakes.
Too decent for a brand as such.

Their main specialty is Churros.

Churros... :)
Above as you can see are churros which are fried and thus can be used with dips of various chocolates. Looks yummy doesn't it?

Next image we have below is the Ice Cream Sundae. Its a Chocolate Brownie with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream and melted chocolate. *Drool again!
It took a lot of effort and a lot of time to savor this dish and finish it.
Was too happy with the dish and the milkshakes were amazing too.

Just look at this... *Drool

About the sandwiches; their range and variety is commendable. I ordered for this particular sandwich as its my favorite. It didn't fail to disappoint me here either.

The taste, the tangy flavor, everything was up to the mark.

Smoked Chicken  Sandwich 190/-

The pictures have been clicked at the Andheri West outlet.
They have many other outlets all over Mumbai and for all chocolate lovers, this is one place you must visit.. I mean it.

Overall, I'll give this place a 4.5/5 rating.

What we learnt from " India Vs New Zealand " 2nd Test Match

India 0-1 down in the series were looking set to worsen their record away from home.
Haven't won a match since 930+ days. So, the pressure to win is very very high.

The Kiwis on the other hand, were on cruise mode with due performances from their seam team.
So, in a nutshell, I'll describe each day, and then we read, what we learnt from this match.

Day 1:

Brendon Mccullum kept his losing record intact in terms of losing tosses, and India chose to bowl.
A surprising decision, but paid well in the end.
Ishant Sharma repeated his 2nd innings antics in the previous test with a 6 wicket haul again with Shami taking the rest. For the first time Indian seam line up took all 10 wickets in many years.
India batted for the post tea session making a 100/2 with Dhawan cruising for another century.
Advantage - INDIA

Day 2:

India, batted well almost for the entire day, with Dhawan missing out on a century.
The night watchman Ishant made a gutsy 26.
The tailenders contributed well for the team.(Zaheer - 22, Jadeja - 26)
Star of the day is Ajinkya Rahane who scored 118.
New Zealand seam line up got 9 on 10 wickets. not bad eh?
India got a lead of 235, Great..!!
New Zealand end the day on 24/1 trailing by 222 runs.
Advantage - INDIA

Day 3:
Mccullum and Watling rescued the Black caps after they were trailing 94/5
A partnership was forming, which was slowly rescuing them from an innings defeat, to avoiding a follow on, and then giving a decent target.
No good performances from the indians.
The bowlers were worn out.
For a while, Zaheer bowled a spell which was on the stump. Pure class!!
Advantage - 50-50

Day 4:
Mccullum and Watling made a partnership record and batted the entire day.
Phew!! What a record. 350+runs is not what you hear for the 6th wicket.
Then, James Neesham , the debutant scored a century. It's like, whoever was batting from the home team played India like their toy.
The Bowlers like usual were a failure. it seemed they weren't into the match and hoped it would all end like a bad dream.
Advantage - New Zealand

Day 5:
Mcculum completes his triple hundred with style thus joining the league of  Sir Donald Bradman and Wally Hammond as the only players to have scored a double century and a triple century in consecutive Tests.
Stupendous achievement!
In that course, he broke Martin Crowe's long time record since 1991 of scoring the highest runs on this ground (Previous was 299 in the year 1991-92)
The match was declared, and thus India was given a daunting target of 430+
It was obvious nothing could be done!
But, we batted decently with our future star, Virat kohli scoring a consolatory hundred for the visitors.

Result: MATCH DRAWN

8 Things we learnt from this match:

1) Brendon Mcculum is the man everyone must thank. he truly played a captain's knock, didn't he? He showed everyone how a aggressive batsman can slow down his game to great lengths just for his country.

2) Ishant Sharma is the most unpredictable Indian player ever.

3) Our batting seems to have finally found the swing, not only the top order, but also the tail enders contributing.

4) The Kiwis need more variety in the spin department. Expecting everything from their seamers can backfire anytime.

5) Rohit Sharma needs to find his zing back again, if he wants to cement his place in the team.

6) Our bowling looked like it was getting back to track, but the key to success always remains Consistency.
    We need more of it.

7) Watling and Mcculum need to be given a special praise for their performance. To rescue your team from the losing stage to get them to a decent position is commendable.

8)The men in blue's next task is England which is 5 months from now which means after 2 months,
India will have a record for not winning an away test for more than 1000 days!!

What we learnt from the FA Cup matches this weekend

I'll be mentioning the two prime matches,
Manchester city vs Chelsea
Arsenal vs Liverpool

10 Things we learned in Chelsea vs Manchester city match:

1) Chelsea defense was tested with John Terry absent. The defense looked good, but not at their best.

2) Jovetic was surely inspirational and every effort of his was giving hints during the entire match of the impact he will create. He scored a brilliant goal, with another attempt hitting the cross-bar. (Unlucky)

3) Yaya Toure was having a go at whatever ball he got. Unsuccessful though. In the absence of Fernandinho, he has been burdened with extra defensive duties.

4)Samir Nasri is back and this is good news for Man city.

5) Petr Cech has been impressive this season conceding very less goals but that has been the case due to a strong and disciplined defense.

6) Oscar / Lampard were missed, as the need for someone to direct the play from the center was lacking.

7) Kompany was harsh throughout the game but effective.

8) Man City were more aggressive and that's how they won many duels and the game.

9) Yaya Toure tackled Matic well during the entire match.

10) Not a single decent shot on target, no wonder the blues lost the match and that means, Jose has a lot to ponder upon with this tactical change.

10 Things we learned in Liverpool vs Arsenal  match:

1) The Gunners had the maximum aggression which was effective in the long run for them.

2) Sanago had a decent start with good shots on target leading to the first goal.

3) Liverpool lost possession on regular intervals which meant, Advantage - Arsenal.
Flamini kept everyone at a good distance from the Penalty area. Experience counts doesn't it?

4) Luis Suarez felt burdened with extra duties as no one in the mid field was providing quality balls, thus  resulting in Suarez turning into the play maker, rather than going for goal.

5) Alex Oxlade Chamberlain had a brilliant match, and I'm of the opinion that he has the best starting run-up  in the league. The burst of quickness proved to be too good for
Liverpool.

6) The Mesut Ozil we know was back.. the passes, through balls, vision were way above excellence. His passes gave the gunners a much needed boost in their attack.

7) Liverpool deserved a penalty at least again...but the decision went against them.. it could have been 2-2 and from there who knew, the match could have gone either way right?

8) Stevie G was inspirational in the dying stages of the match with his range of short passes, long passes and crosses. Even though it was good, it came late in the second half. Maybe too late to win!!

9) Daniel Sturridge missed chances which were questionable as Liverpool could have led during the match. both attempts to lure away the keeper failed. The match for the lad went bad to worse. A funny moment with him tying shoe laces of Fabianski was hilarious.

10) A request to Arsene Wenger... Please start Lukas Podolski. Its clear that from recent matches, either Giroud has lost form or he has been over used and needs rest. Maybe Podolski is being saved for the Bayern Tie but he is a experienced person and thus his presence is needed.

Mitchell Johnson - The next Bowling Legend?

Name         - Mitchell Johnson
Age            - 32
Role           - Fast Bowler, Sometimes an All rounder.
Nicknames - Notch, Midge, Chomps

Johnson has been a regular starter with the Aussies, spear heading their attack, acheiving success almost everytime.
The year 2013 was clearly the year of Midge.
He has been phenomenal with the ball, and contributing a little with the bat too.
Wickets have been a regular thing for him as he got his team victories too easily.
The guy with the mustache has given batsmen of many nations, sleepless nights.

Now, a little bit of history:
When we think of fast bowlers who are legends, some names we would get would be,
Glen McGrath
Courtney Walsh
Courtly Ambrose
Waqar Younis etc

These cricketers at their time, were legends on field.
Their performance was mesmerizing to anyone and everyone who watched them play.
There was one thing the above bowlers had in common, i.e Consistency!

Midge has been consistent all year in 2013, and he doesn't seem to slow down soon.
In 2014 he is continuing to destroy every team that comes in his way.

Here is a list of a few of his last test outings right from The Ashes and the ongoing series with South Africa.
Bowling figures: (Ashes)               Bowling figures: (South Africa)
 1st test  - 9 / 103                         1st test - 12/127
 2nd test - 8 / 113
 3rd test - 6 / 140
 4th test -  8 / 88
 5th test -  6 / 73

Now, tell me, how do you rate this guy?
Too good ain't he?
Yes he is..!!
49 wickets in his last 6 tests mean he at least picks up an average of 8 wickets a test.
That is an incredible feat.

Also he does have a fifty in one innings. That's decent for a full time bowler.
These stats are just a piece of recent information.
He has been a legend in the making from many years with decent performances.
But this Ashes, he stole the limelight completely.
Everyone started noticing him more and more with every match.
And i think after a while, his fan base will increase to a new height.

We all know he has been bought by Kings XI Punjab for $1.15 million.
That's a huge price but i think he fits the bill,
Mumbai Indians will surely miss his presence and yes,
Batsmen will have to beware of this guy, as he has a fetish of watching castled wickets and sad faces of batsmen.
Hoping to see him get better and better!

Jose Mourinho's view on Chelsea winning the EPL

"Jose Mourinho is Chelsea, Chelsea is Jose Mourinho.."

This man has completely overturned Stamford Bridge's fortune the moment he stepped in.
The flow of titles, applauders, and achievements have been increasing under his term.
This year he returned back to the place he calls his Home.
Currently as you are reading this, Chelsea has been on top of the table for a couple of days.
Jose says, that his only goal for this year is to finish in the "TOP 4".
Surprising right?
Why would he say that?
Below are some of my view points.

1)Below par attacking ability by strikers:

From the past two seasons, Chelsea has been suffering from striker blues, as the dwindling form of Fernando Torres and the other attacking option i.e Demba Ba have been underperforming to great extent.
So much, that Jose had to sign Samuel Eto'o. Though he has been average, the overall structure of our attack is still below normal.

2) Midfielders as substitute attackers:

The midfielders, Eden Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Ramires and Lampard were overburdened with their responsibilities as they had to make sure that a goal is scored, apart from making the play.

3) Manchester City and Arsenal:

These two teams have been the ones who we dethroned for the top spot.
But for the first 24 weeks, they have been the ones handling the pressure and the fame of being No.1
Manchester City whose home record we broke, had a stupendous record of scoring at least 3 goals per match. Now that is something every Premier league manager is to be wary of.
Arsenal on the other hand have surprised everyone, with their signing, their tactics, their guns blazing attitude which gives everyone that ray of hope for a premier league title last won during Thierry Henry's reign.

4) Losing many points:

Losing points at places where all 3 points can be taken is not what will win us the title. The match at Hawthorns, both home and away were really interesting. Even though I'm a Chelsea fan, i thought they deserved the win, but a late controversial penalty got us a point. Karma is a bitch and yes it did come back to haunt us as they leveled the match 1-1. Also, we have lost many opportunities in Mid-season to go on top by dropping points. Not a good sign.

5)Team not up to the mark:

I do not fully agree with this, but maybe he thinks that the team is not of winning material and thus he is convinced that settling at top 4 would be better.

6) Mind games:

Now, everyone knows how the mind games are played by Jose.
He is well known to mentally tackle the other team and the manager in a bid to win the match and surprise them with his tactics.
Many a times those tactics have been questioned.
But all in all, his mind games are like a mystery until its revealed.

These are my pointers and i would love your comments.
Everyone is free to suggest.
Cheers!!

Future of Football in India

Now we all know what sports to India meant in the early 2000's
It meant.. CRICKET..
Obviously the other sports did exist, but not only were the player less but also, the opportunities provided.
Now as the years progressed, so did our viewpoints on various other sports.
Here is a list of sports which people began to watch:

1) Indian league (Football)
2) English premier league (Football)
3) Spanish premier league (Football)
4) Italian league (Football)
5) Indian Badminton League
6) Indian Hockey League
7) Olympics ( Weight Lifting, others)
8) Boxing Matches
9) Lawn Tennis ( Worldwide )

So, we can see a list of new sports which the common man could enjoy watching.
The highest being Football, which has now been revolutionized in India.
Over the course of 7-8 years i.e from 2006- present, Indian fans of football have been increasing on a vast scale.
Gone are the days, when people would stay at home and watch matches.
Now, they attend screenings, visit their favorite team shops, cafes to buy merchandise and flaunt their support.
The majority of supporters have increased the number of players too.
There is a division of football in Mumbai which is as follows,

Third division    - 152 clubs split into 19 groups with every group having 8 clubs
Second division - 56 clubs split into 7 groups with every group having 8 clubs
First Division     - 48 clubs split into 6 groups with every group having 8 clubs
Super division    - 30 clubs split into 3 groups of 10 teams each
Elite division      - 14 clubs in one division
Then the winners will advance to, I-League 2nd division, and then finally, the main stage, "I-League"

So just imagine, if every team has a minimum of 11 + 5 players in their squad then how many players are into this sport?
The number might reach around 8-10,000 players which is a huge number.
Worldwide, scouts who search talent for their clubs  have also termed India as the next big thing.
Many football schools of different English clubs have started their schools here.
So kids if this generation can get training, play on better grounds, get better facilities, and meet football stars and who knows, might become famous also!

Also by the time the teams reach the Elite and I-league, players get paid per match which thus makes the sport more worthwhile for the players.

The audience for these matches over the years have increased by over 100%
The club names Dempo, Churchill brothers, Goa, Salgaocar, East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, etc have become household names for football fanatics in India.
These clubs are a source of finding the best players to represent India in World Football.
We rank 156 in World football which is not a good sight, but from where i see it, there is a huge scope of improvement, as we have nothing to loose and a lot to gain.

Players to watch in the English premier league Gameweek 26

Players to look out for in next game week  i.e on Tuesday night in the premier league according to me.

1) Luis Suarez:
As usual, this player should never be counted out as definitely made the biggest impact in the league. Undoubtedly he is in the form of his life and it doesn’t seem he will stop scoring soon.
With 22 goals and 16 assists in 20 starts, This man is indeed the player who can challenge the likes of Ronaldo, Messi and Ribery.
So, Don’t be surprised if he scores again.. As he is Luis Suarez and “He scores when he wants”

2) Eden Hazard:
No doubt, he is the rising star of the league and a stand out Chelsea performer.
Many state he is a legend in the making.
This season he has been toying around with defenses literally!
With so many chances ceated this term, he will surely be in the top 5 contenders for The Premier league player of the season.

3)Adam Johnson
This player’s form is the reason why sunderland are out of the Relegation zone. With Sunderland riding high on his form, surely expect a goal scoring scenario from him. He didn’t score in the last match but don’t count him out so easily.

4) Kyle Walker
He has been the best defender cum Attacking winger for Tottenham. The extra crosses, passes gave his team a tactical boost. Since Tim Sherwood has taken control, he hasn’t been on his full potential. The month of January was not at all his month.
But yesterday’s performance was a hint of the old guy returning to form. Let’s hope the best for him.

5) Juan Mata
A household name for Chelsea’s fans, two time Chesea Player of the season was recently sold to Manchester United as lack of playing time was provided to him for a huge duration. Thus his leaving he club hurt the fans.
Since wearing a Manchester jersey this lad has played 3games and assisted once every game.
Good for a player who hasn’t played much for couple of month.
A perfect team player who is completely unselfish. Thus you can always bank on him.

6) Robin Van Persie
The top scorer for Manchester last year has just returned back from injury.
3 games, 3 goals. Looks like, he won’t stop scoring soon..
So expect another goal from him.

7)Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard, the Liverpool legend has had a captain’s performance in the recent weeks.
A couple of assists, and many chances created by him gives a high possibility that he will do something again.

8) Jack wilshere/ Mesut Ozil
In the absence of Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott, Ozil has been burdened with many duties which has hampered his performances in the recent weeks. With Jack Wilshere back in the team, do expect one of them to be a top performer

9) Wojciech Szczesny
The best keeper of the league currently had the worst match of the season. But with 7-10 fine saves by him, he saved his team the blushes.
This week I do expect he will again play on and save his team from losing.

10) Branislav Ivanovic
Chelsea’s defense has been strong and he is one of the main reasons for that.
The ability to attack and defend well has made him a favorite among the scorers and assister’s list. His winning goal against Manchester city has surely boosted his morale. Look forward for another match winning performance from him.

11) Daniel Sturridge
This man along with Luis Suarez has created the deadly combination who have an average of a goal every 80 minues. Astounding as it sounds, his goal scoring form hasn’t stoed either. With 15 goals in his kitty, you mus expect him on the scoresheet.

12) Kevin Nolan
This West Ham legend has been on top form past two wees scoring a couple of goals
With 4 goals In his last 2 matches, you can expect him being the reason for west ham to win again. The groin injury he is suffering now is discovered as mild and thus there is a high chance he will play in tomorrow's game!

EPL Gameweek 25 Sunday Review

2 Games left, Everton vs Tottenham and Manchester United vs Fulham

Tottenham Vs Everton:
The battle for the 4th spot i.e the champions league spot has brought out the best in them.
With Manchester united having a disastrous season as compared to their other seasons, they would be out to prove a point and score some points.
Liverpool is currently 4th and thus Both these teams would look forward to grabbing that spot from them.
The match begun at a normal note, some failed attacks, many fouls, free kicks.
The only highlights were from Leighton Baines, Steven Pienaar and then Aaron Lennon.
Rest players were average throughout the match.
Adebayor then scored a goal from a brilliant pass from Kyle Walker and thus sealed the fate of Everton.
According to me, The match should have either tied or Everton should have won.
But, its not Tottenham's mistake.
Everton got tons of chances, but failed to convert every time.
Every forward of theirs got around 2-3 chances each.
many a times, the hots were off target.
How can you score, if you cant hit your ball on target.?
This is one question the team has to decide.
I know the absence of their first preferred striker Lukaku has affected them to a great extent.
But that doesn't mean other players cant fulfill the deed.
The match was a So-So match where one won;t want to even have a debate on.
The attempts could have been better, but in the end the winner takes it all.
So Tottenham sit on 5th for now, with a 2point cushion over Everton and a 3 point distance from Liverpool
Looking forward for an exciting finish for the 4th spot..!!

Manchester United vs Fulham:
This match is for both the teams  to revive some pride.
You know why?
 Because,
Fulham is 20th on the league table, that means last.
This is their worst season as compared to the other seasons at this stage.
So they would want 3 points to climb out of the relegation zone.

For Manchester United, this season has been extraordinary.
By extraordinary i mean, very bad.!!
Losing away matches is one thing, but losing at home very often means, the team or the strategy, one is failing.
Manchester has the team, has the strategy, but the only thing missing is, the connection of the team.

So a bit of a highlight from my side:

One of the best chip passes by Holtby found Sidwell who tapped it in to give Fulham a lead within 25 minutes...
The cross exposed the Manchester defense and thus Sidwell was clear in the field with just a tap needed to finish the task.
Yet again, Manchester conceded early. Why am i not surprised?
Later, A brilliant chance by Van Persie was missed as he mistimed his volley on the 22nd minute
Fulham's defense was very good, they maintained a good line, clearing all air duels contested.
The team's goal is to come out of the relegation zone.
I think, no more motivation is needed for any team then right?
Throughout, the first half, Steklenberg, Fulham's keeper made fine saves, was aggressive when needed, kept Van persie and Ashley Young from scoring goals.
A brilliant volley by veteran Carrick near the half hour mark, almost went in but missed the target.
Manchester United had many chances but the conversion rate and the existence of players to finish the task were almost nil.
On the 36th minute, Richardson almost got to score from a counter attack which seemed to go Fulham's way, but the shot was hit above the cross bar.. what a bad finish.. could have made it 2-0.
2 minutes later, Manchester pressurized the Fulham defense which nearly leaked a goal, but thanks to their positioning, they just fell too short.
A corner in the next minute saw Vidic head the ball directly to the keeper's hands.
Till half time, Manchester put a lot of pressure on Fulham but failed to convert.
Many failed crosses to be exact 46 crosses according to Star Sports, but no result, air duels were lost which meant Manchester were attempting a lot, but the end result remained the same till half time.
Next half saw the same scenario with Manchester playing crosses as their prime weapon.
One shot from Rooney on 53rd minute was smartly saved by the keeper.
Indeed the best of the match.
Manchester kept pressurizing and it felt not too long before they scored a goal..
The introduction of Januzaj, Valencia and Hernandez meant, Fulham would indeed be PARKING THE BUS for a long time.
2 quick goals from Van Persie and Carrick in 2 minutes gave Manchester the lead which they deserved..
But, in the end, Darren bent scored a heartbreak which meant that Fulham took a point away from a team that deserved everything!! Too sad for Manchester!

EPL Gameweek 25 Saturday Review

West Ham Utd vs Aston Villa
Nolan was indeed the man of the match and was on prime form with 3-4 long balls during the match which almost converted into a goal..
One more thing which the manager and fans would be happy with is the partnership of the experienced midfielders Downing and Nolan. They are combining to good extent already and i expect them to be the cause for West ham to increase their position in the premier league. With Shane long looking good this team looks set for more better performances in the next few games.
Now what was West ham's power?
The aggressiveness is what gave them an edge over Aston villa
Aston villa had tons of chances and believe me they came too close to scoring right till the end of the match.
Its one of those days in a soccer match that you have all the ingredients but the mixing is what doesn't happen as per requirements.
The same happened with them.
They just did everything apart from scoring.
I'm of the opinion that if you cant be on target stop blaming anyone for the loss..
If you have to blame someone.. Blame yourself.. and your lack of accuracy.
They hit the crossbar twice and that's the only consolation they can take back with them , the twin cross bar hits were one by Marc Albrighton the upcoming Aston villa star who looked good during the match, and second by Benteke who in the pre season and the first few games of the league was the top scorer of the premier league.. an injury cost him many matches and villa lost many on the way...... its high time the lad starts coming on the score sheet on a consistent basis.. because the wait is being suffered by Aston villa.. the fans are supporting the team, why wont they? But the main matter of concern is the proximity of the last 10teams to the relegation zone... One loss and little bad luck will get you to the zone. As you know they are on 10th spot pre-match and 12th post match. The cushion is gone and now only 3-5 points differentiate last 10teams.. beat that..
Surprising right? Cardiff and Sunderland who were sure shot prone to relegation are already out of it with string  of wins in their kitty thanks to their forwards.
For Aston  villa,
Unless Benteke and others sort out their goals, they will keep losing points.
Final score West ham 2 - 0 Aston Villa

Sunderland vs Hull City
Sunderland had lost just 1 out of last 5 matches..
Riding on the form of Johnson who was adjudged the player of month, they jumped out of the relegation zone and seemed to be riding the success train. They looked favorites at home..
Hull started well in the first 10 minutes and a mistake by Sunderland defense who ended up giving a pass to Shane long who got fouled outside the penalty area by Wes brown.. Red card indeed.. as it was a last man challenge..
The free kick wasn't converted by Tom Huddlestone, but some minutes later, a.corner headed in by Shane long gave them a goal..  an away goal.
How important was that.
Some minutes later, Shane long whose confidence was high almost scored but his effort kissed the crossbar..
Later a series of deflections almost gave Hull a second goal..
finally, another deflection gave Jelavic the ball clear from the defense who just headed it in..!!
That goal couldn't be saved and Sunderland were indeed Unlucky to concede that.
Final score Sunderland 0 - 2 Hull city

Swansea vs Cardiff City
Without their manager, Swansea were the ones to be tensed.. but from.the word go? They showed character and played well.. a series of chances missed by Routledge and Swansea..
Finally, a ball passed to Routledge was finished well by him.
Next half, Swansea looked to play easy and Cardiff came on guns blazing,  with Craig Bellamy hitting the cross bar which was nearly a goal..
Another chance in the penalty are not converted which showed us that Cardiff was into serious business
Then a.brilliant cross by Routledge to dyer who headed it d perfectly..
Routledge passed and dint be selfish..
Again another corner which resulted bony into heading it right into the goal which meant swansea took 3 well deserved points..

Chelsea vs Newcastle
Passes by Etoo have been brilliant during the entire match..
Matic playing a good role..
Lampard taking shots
Cech saving shots well..
Ivanovic playing a good winger performance with his defensive duties..
Hazard was par excellence!!
He indeed is a legend in the making
His form is sky rocketing.
Its too early to call him a star as it needs consistency but for now, the lad is on cloud 9...
The word hazardous is definitely termed for him..
Thus hazards performance can be defined in one word..  HAZARDOUS
Chelsea were very good on the counter attack.
Willian orchestrated the play and his form has been consistent enough in recent weeks.
Brilliant one-two passing by Etoo and Hazard which resulted in the Belgian's second of the match
A big mistake by Krul almost resulted in a weird goal as he forgot the basic rule that you can't catch a ball outside the box..
Krul had that happy realization on time. If that would go inside the net, he would be the butt of jokes for the entire month not forgetting the different memes which would horrify him to the full extent
Lampard is back in form and he proved his worth to start games which is a good news..
Salah debuting today almost scored but was denied by Krul.
Newcastle didn't make the most of their chances and Cech who was aggressive was partly the reason of their not scoring..
Newcastle woke up at the very end of the match which thus didn't matter..

Apart from Chelsea vs Newcastle and Liverpool vs Arsenal the other reviews are given just by checking the highlights and post match interviews as many matches were showcased at the same time, and only 2 matches were being screened.
Do comment on how you thought the matches fared and if any facts i missed out on!

India vs New Zealand - Test Match Review 6-9 Feb 2014

New Zealand won the match on Day 5 by 40 runs!!
India's misery continues!!
900+ days since India won a Test match abroad..!!
Why did this happen?

Lets rewind a few days back!!

Day 1:
New Zealand batted well, or you can say our bowlers just bowled poorly to concede runs
Can you believe the fact that, being a test match, they scored over a rate of 4 runs per over!!
The score they set was 500+ with Brendon Mccullum scoring a double hundred (224)

Day 2:
India well, just couldn't do much could they?
Not only was the bowling bad, but also was the batting!!
India all out for 202... well below Mccullum's score of 224..
Such a shame!!
11 batsmen couldn't score what one guy did..!!

Day 3:
New Zealand gave a below par performance in their batting, Or you can say that India's bowling found their zing back, as they rattled the home team for a total of 105..!!!
That gave India a target of  407.
India batted decently to finish the day 4 on a high note at 87/1 in 25-30 overs!
That meant India needed around 320 odd runs in 80-90 overs. Possible to win right?

Let it be known that from the time, Test cricket was born, there have been over 2000+ tests played, only 4 instances where a team has chased down a total of 400+
Will India do the impossible was the question doing the rounds!!

Day4:
India started on a high note with Virat kohli scoring a fifty (67) and Shikhar dhawan regaining his lost form to score a well deserved century. (115)
After tea, the score stood at 270/5
India needed just 139 runs with 30-35 overs to spare!!
Pretty good for the team!!
The match was tilting towards India's favour!
Now the team knew that The home team would come on full attack mode and will try to take the wickets down asap!!
The first Ball after tea saw Tim Southee, NZ's best and most experienced bowler pick up the wicket of a settled Rohit Sharma!!
The match came back to NZ's favour!!
With Jadeja on crease, It was a dim ray of light on India's chances of winning!!
For what its worth, they both started hammering the home team by coming up with a partnership of 50 within 32 balls!!
Too quick right? they should have slowed down, but Jadeja had other plans. He went for another delivery to transfer it to the boundary but got caught within the 30 yard circle!! He got out for 26.
India's hopes fell down immediately.
With 89 runs needed, Zaheer Khan came on crease.
He managed to keep Dhoni company and hit 17 valuable runs!!
Then Dhoni almost never allowed Ishant to play one delivery and kept the strike with himself.
He got out on 39 thereby completely diminshing India's hope for a miracle!!
India lost by 40+ runs
New Zealand were delighted with their victory and their captain Brendon Mccullum was awarded the M-O-M performance of 224.

What went wrong for India:

1) Over dependency on batting is what made India's downfall evident.

2) No depth in the bowling line up meant the same bowlers got hammered every match!!

3) Reserves were not given a chance:
Ishwar Pandey, Amit mIshra were good picks but were sidelined.. why?
In the reserves game with the home team reserves, Ishwar Pandey took 3 wickets. He is quicker than our pack too!!

4) Our bowlers are not fast enough. I don't mean to insult but the foreign team players are far more used to playing to speeds above 140.. Apart from Vaunt Aaron and BC Kumar i haven't seen pacers reaching that speed on consistent levels.

5) If not pace, then we all know Glen McGrath. Did he need pace?
No.. he used line and length to utmost utility. He was a delight to watch during his career.
So if our players can't reach that speed, why can't they bowl a suitable line and length to minimize runs!!
That's one thing which can be done right?

6) Our team of selectors and many fans believed that youth are the future!!
I do agree, but only till a certain part.
If you all remmember, we won the World Cup, due to the experience of all our senior players!!
the youth put up their best performance, but they need a guide!!
Unfortunately, apart from the captain and Zaheer we have none!

7) The key is to bring back certain players so that the team can re-balance!!
Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag..
I know they have been given enough chance, but even our opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma has failed to deliver throughout for months!!
Thus we do need a little experience on the top and let me remind you, After Sachin and Sourav, we have never had a better opening pair then Sehwag and Gambhir.
The Delhi boys have given us consistent openings with scores of 50+

8) The pack of bowlers needs to be changed.
Zaheer at 32+ is still picking up wickets consistently, why can't our youngsters do that?
Get some players who have been playing in the Ranji Trophy.
They would be hungry enough and motivated to make their name in this game!!

9) The middle order is burdening Cheteshwar Pujara!!
That lad is good, but needs company also.

These are my views on this test.
if changes are not made, then it wont be a surprise if we loose the next test too..!!

My verdict- New Zealand are weaker than our side in actual terms, they are playing normal cricket, we aren't... We need to strike, and connect, and I'm sure we can win the next match!

Liverpool vs Arsenal - EPL Gameweek 25

Liverpool and Arsenal..
These teams are a part of history when it comes to the world of English football..
With the list of titles overflowing in their kitty, these two clubs are a dream for many players who want to make it big in the world of soccer!!

Its obvious these teams have a history with each other..
Overall, these two have had fierce meetings and many a times the games have been high scoring!!
Both have won some what equally, thus making this encounter a fierce one!

Today, Liverpool who are trying their luck with fate to enter the champions league spot, i.e 4th spot by defeating Arsenal who are sitting on the top of the premier league with a 8 point cushion over Liverpool.

Liverpool, finally had their best forward combination in a decade i.e Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge who have an average of 80 minutes per goal in this season... That's magnificent..!!

Arsenal had their worst injury struck campaign as Aaron Ramsey and  Theo Walcott, their prime players out for a couple of months!!

The match was an early kick-off 12.45 London time, and Arsene Wenger said that he expected Liverpool to go guns blazing on them!!
That surely happened, as from the word GO..., Liverpool ran for a superb attack which led to a foul within 40 seconds of the match.
The result, Steven Gerrard, the play-maker takes a free kick, which is met by Martin Skrtel who scores a header within a minute!!
Imagine.. going 0-1 down within a minute.. what impact does it have on a team?
Their morale goes down, doesn't it?
It did happen, as Arsenal kept losing the ball at regular intervals, and within 10 Minutes, the same scenario repeated again.
A Stevie Gerrard corner kick led to an amazing header from the one and only Martin Skrtel who yet scored again!!
Now, Arsenal players were to be blamed completely as the defense was badly organized and it felt like they had already given up for the match.
Every time, Liverpool got the ball, it felt like an attack sure to hit the net.
Then 3 minutes later, another goal.
The defense exposed, a ball put through from the right flank by Luis Suarez which was met by Rahim Sterling who just tapped the ball into its place!!
Scoreline after 15 minutes: ARS 0 - 3 LIV

Then, the same scenario for the next few minutes kept happening as Liverpool were toying around an Arsenal side whose Midfielders were defending better than the defenders!!
On 20th minute, another goal..!!!
A brilliant ball from Coutinho which beat the defense and was well placed to Daniel Sturridge who didn't hesitate to tap it in..!!
The expression on Arsenal's keeper Szczesny said it all. he shouted on top of his lungs , but the dejected players were all but broken!!
Score after 20 minutes ARS 0-4 LIV.

Then

4-0 after 20 minutes.. everyone was spellbound..!!
No one expected a fight back from Arsenal, let alone score 1 goal for a consolation.
The next 25 minutes was evenly played out, with Arsenal keeping more Ball possession and trying to attack.
So late, but still a decent effort could be seen by the lads who just got smacked badly..!!

As the first half got done, the pundits gave their verdict that a 7-0, 8-0 is any day possible and that Liverpool will surely play with ease!!
That did happen, as when the second half went underway, Liverpool took not more than 10 minutes to score a goal.
Rahim Sterling was upto it again, the young midfielder took a shot and got the reward.!!
Liv 5- 0 Ars
What a scoreline!!
Arsenal fans dejected..
Before the Hour mark, a string of 3 substitutions were done by Arsenal.
Oliver Giroud was replaced by Lukas Podolski
Mesut Ozil being replaced by Tomas Rosicky
Nacho Monreal being replaced by Kieran Gibbs

A string of off sides for Liverpool didn't allow them to score more!
Then after an hour, Gerrard's foul on Alex Ox lade Chamberlain gave Arsenal a penalty which was well converted by Mikel Arteta.
LIV 5- 1 ARS.

Further in the last 20 minutes of the match, both sides tried to evade each others attack and ended up not scoring!!
FINAL SCORE :
Liverpool 5- 1 Arsenal..

Things learnt in the match:

1) When Liverpool has started Suarez and Sturridge together, the chances of scoring turn higher!!

2) Steven Gerrard played deep in his own half like a defender not going ahead, just anchoring the play from behind showing youngsters and other players the dedication a player must have towards his team.

3) Arsenal defenders were very poor right from the start.
The combination of The center backs was not upto the mark.

4)Lukas Podolski should be given more playing time, For the time being, Arsenal should play 2 forwards increasing their chances of scoring!!

5) Jack Wilshere was good in the team's defense too which is an add on to the team!!

6) Arsenal managed more passes  than Liverpool in the entire match which goes to prove that the ball was more with them, but the conversion rate of Liverpool ended up on a high note!!

7) Finally, Arsenal will have to gear up to their Plan B as they have now lost the top spot to Chelsea who are a point ahead thanks to Eden Hazard's Hat trick which gave them a 3-0 win over Newcastle United.

Involuntary Musical imagery

This concept / syndrome / etc whatever you call it has affected maximum people in all parts of the world..!!
Curious right?
Why didn't i hear about it before?
Well I'm sure some questions as such might be roaming inside your head..
Let me solve your queries!!

Involuntary musical imagery or an Ear-worm is a catchy piece of music that continually repeats through a person's mind after it is no longer playing. Phrases used to describe an ear-worm include musical imagery repetition, and stuck song syndrome!!!

Now, why am i talking about this concept?
I found out this concept one fine day on twitter and just googled about it..!!
The result kept me on the edge and i just realized I'm affected by a syndrome!!

Now, a bit of detail on the effect of this syndrome:
This syndrome hits mostly every student during a lecture, a test etc..
It hits me every time i am in a lecture.. (that's fun BTW) and i enjoy those moments... any-day better than the lecture!!
During exams, you have to see me..
For a while, i have to sop writing as the songs playing in my head crack me up!!
E.g- Sexy eyes by Aqua.... the moment this song plays on my mind i just can't control my laughter.. imagine... laughing in a examination hall.. hilarious nah..!!
Here is a list of catchy songs which mess up my mind!!
- Mambo no.5
- Sexy eyes
- Ketchup Song
- Where do you go!!
- Temperature
- Smack that

I agree these songs are vintage in today's time.. but still  their tunes are damn catchy!!
I even hear new songs, Hindi, English pop, rock, r&b, Rap etc and it occupies my boredom in the lecture!!

So, if you have ever thought of songs playing in your mind during a meeting, lecture, seminar etc then be proud and spread the word about this syndrome!! :)

A Common Man's view towards ART

Art is a creation of an individual who through his thinking, depicts something which gives meaning to a certain theme!!
People when shown that creation usually are spellbound mostly..!!
The praise which the people shower towards the art and the artist is what every artist wants, that his creation or depiction is given attention and praise.
For a common man, art is something where,
- They can praise the art
- Then click lots and lots of pictures
- Pose around the art

This all looks normal, doesn't it..?
But i would like to highlight some aspects here...
Yesterday had been to Kala Ghoda Arts Festival which happens every year in Church-gate where  students from different Fine-Arts Colleges showcase their talent and their thoughts. Its free to enter and yes you are allowed to click photos but from a distance..
There are boundaries drawn showing the crowd, not to enter as it may destroy the art.

There were many creations where one was of a round structure with glass panels on the top, behind and front of you, and even beside you...!!
The space was only for 2-3 people to go and experience it..
What was there to experience?
The panels were kept in such an angle that you could see the entire place from all the glass panels..

What did the people do?
They have a bigger group..So, its obvious, they would want to take a groupie pic... right?
So what if it comes on an expense to the artist or the team?
They don't care a damn!!
In front of me at least 2-3 panels were broken.
The artist was tired explaining it to people, but no one listens..
Later i found out that this festival is for 10 days and since 5-6 days, 18 panels were broken!!
Every panel costing around 600 rupees(10 $)..
How much loss to that creation, to the money...
But what does common man think of?
Facebook..Twitter...Whats app display pic.. etc...
This is demeaning!!

One more creation was of a weighing scale, weighing the "Woman gender" and "Law"
The post handling the scale had news articles stuck to it representing all the RAPE cases reported...!!
What did people do to mess this up..
They just didn't read.. all they cared for is a pic with a weighing scale.. awesome nah?
Losers!!
Guys were posing with a cool hand gesture which kind of depicted like they were proud of it and would want to do more!!
The worse part was girls were posing too!!
What a shame!!!
I went up to 2 girls who were planning to decide which pose to give!!
Asked them to read before they clicked..
Once they did, they simply walked away with embarrassment clearly mentioned on their faces.!!
Such a shame that a common man views art just like another showpiece to click photos with..!!
While leaving we met an artist who had given up all hopes as he was telling us his story of how people man handled his art right in front if him and he was helpless!!
If only he had a machine gun!!
My overall visit was good, but i ended up with a headache trying to control my anger and disappointment!!

What I’d Do Differently if I Were a Bookstore owner!!

For a book reader knows best what every aspiring book lover wants..!!

Being an avid lover of reading, i can understand the two things that stop a reader from getting the book of his dreams!!
1 --- Huge price of the book
2 --- Non-Availability

These are the only two main aspects as to why a reader might not buy the book he or she desires!!

If i were a bookstore owner i would do the following:

1) A weekly discount on the Best-sellers..!! This would definitely grab the attention of all the avid and upto date readers as they would all flock to my store to buy the book which is trending!

2) Springing in with a variety of offers on books. eg- buy 2 get 1 free (monthly).
The quantity matters at the end of the day!! Thus by keeping offers on Trilogies or a series like Buy 2 from the trilogy and get the third one complimentary!! :) This will further increase sales.

3) Trying to get Authors on board for book signing thereby increasing the audience for the book store.
If authors whether local or international sit for an hour to sign books and mingle with their fans, im sure that many books will be sold, thereby increasing profit.
Also through word of mouth , many will come to the store, thereby increasing the audience!!

4) A monthly gathering for book readers ( Debate or discussion on certain genre of books)
This will bring many readers under one roof thereby starting a good session of different stories, where i as a bookstore owner will get to know more of the tastes and preferences of my customers.

5) End of season sale:
This sale would be the best of the season.
Every year at the closing stock level, when books still remain and need to be cleared out, then a offer like buy 1 get 1 free or buy 3 get 3 free books!! will garner more audience and more sales!!

6)Being an avid book reader myself, i would have a add-on to the tastes and the choices of books i can keep in the store..!!

These all are my thoughts and i would love to see your responses..!!

My new found love- Reading Books!!

Reading a book since childhood was not of my interests..!!
Not even the slightest one!!
Recently, i happened to have a 3 month break from college.
Got an internship at a place which is at least 1.5 hours away from home!!
So naturally it meant a lot of traveling..
So i decided to start reading books during my transit to pass my time..
I thought... Maybe, I'll stop reading the first day itself...
But i didn't..!!
That day was 2nd may 2013... And till today 30th January 2014, i have completed around 13 books/novels.
Phew!!
that's too many right?
I didn't know i had the knack of reading until i started it..
Anyways its better to read something rather than waste your time imagining things in your mind!!

So the next question arises... How the hell did i get so many books?
The answer to that is, that I had been to a Book sale last April which helped me get a lot of books for a very reasonable price!!
Really reasonable..!!
A kilo of books = 60 rupees i.e 1 dollar!!!
Surprising right!!!
Classics like Charles dickens, Jane Austen etc costed 100rupees per kilo.
I ended up buying 5 kilos worth books which involved football magazines, Horror, Mystery, Murder, Reality and 2 classic books!!
i later also went for the next sale.. this time i didn't get the books i hoped to get.. so i experimented using the
Good-reads app on my smartphone and selected some titles..
Here is the snapshot of my collections from the sale..!!
These are my books... have read most of it

What I’d Do Differently if I Were Nike Or Adidas

Nike & Adidas are synonymous with the word SPORTS...
Every sportsperson dreams to own stuff from these places..
Basketball, Football NFL etc...
Shoes, Jerseys, Tees, Caps etc
You name it, and they have it,...
Some sports personalities have their own names printed on some thing
So, its obvious that their supporters would want t buy the stuff..

Now the problem.... All the stuff is overpriced... or the other would would be really not reasonable..
In a city like Mumbai, if you will ask a consumer to pay 10k for a pair of shoes, he or she will give you a list of stuff they can buy with 10,000....
Thus most of the products being overpriced, consumers don't end up buying much..
They wait for the "Flat 40-50% off" Discount so that they can finally buy their favorite products..

If i were working in Nike or Adidas then according to the places, the prices would be varied..
In Mumbai, even though consumers have enough money to spend, still, the better products are too much for their budget..
If these stores come out with a string of products for less prices, then i can guarantee that the sales of these stores will increase to the hilt..
If one will buy, then through Word of Mouth, many others will get to know about these things...
the rise in football audience has increased over the years..
If jerseys, Tees and Shoes are priced reasonable then he sales will increase.. there wouldn't be a need to keep a sale or a discount..!!
This is just a thinking of mine.... If anyone agrees or disagrees with my post, do comment..!!

Life of a Jobless Person - Condition Serious hai

Ever imagined what happens on a day to day basis of what happens in a life of a jobless person...
Here are some pointers..
a) Nights and days are loongggg
b) Insomnia can never take place as you have ample time to sleep
c) You want to visit every party, you even have the time.. but no money!!
d) Every second friend you meet is working!!
e) You don't have a girlfriend... If you do, then boy... you can give her as much time you want..!!
f) Every day the only topic in your house would be.. (What you gonna do with your life)
g) Every morning when you wake up, you find no purpose of living!!
h) All you do is hang out with friends and watch every damn thing on T.V
I) In spare time, you apply for jobs... but most of times.. no luck..!!
j) Even the dumbest guy or girl you knew works, and that majorly pisses you off!!
k) You read the newspaper still, but only the entertainment pages have now changed to TIMES Ascent
l) You often end up searching too many jobs on various job portals!!
m) You often dream too much to think in reality..!!

Choosing to be jobless, or not getting a job is just as worse as your life can get..
All you can do is wake up, and look forward to a positive start..!!

A fast drive & its consequences

Inspired by racing movies, action series.. many of us once have at least tried a fast drive to test our limits!!
And many a times this one drive tends to be our last drive!

In a city like Mumbai, road accidents are very likely to happen every week..
You wont believe it but it happens even on a flyover where the speed limit might be 30....
Recently had seen an accident which ended up being brutal for the pillion rider.. The bike as usual was fast and on the turn, there was a bit of Grease.. (their bad luck...)
So the bike slipped, the rider had a hold on the bike.. he got saved.. but the guy behind him flew in front.. and hit his head on the wall... Now this happens so quickly that everyone around was in a state of panic..
The rider was saved, he escaped with injuries.. But the guy behind died on the spot..

THUS, the same question arises... what is important, being fast.. or your precious life??

I've seen some accidents and the fact remains the same!!
The fun is borne by the riders.. the pain is tended by their families..
One ugly decision changes everything.
Cant imagine the state of the parents when they see their son or daughter in a battered state!!
I know one voice doesn't matter still its an appeal to anyone who tried these daredevil stunts.. to think not for their self  but for their family.!!
Drive wisely..!!
